PE
“Champions aren't made in the gyms. Champions are made from something they have deep inside them - a desire, a dream, a vision.”
Muhammad Ali
At St Michael's we have a whole-school commitment to promoting physical and mental well-being, healthy living and active lifestyles amongst children and staff alike. We participate in inter- and intra-school competitions throughout the year from football to netball, hockey, gymnastics, dance, golf, tennis, rounders, football and athletics.
Healthy competition is a philosophy we support and our Sports Day in July sees an inter-House competition for children in years Reception all the way up to Year 6, and is even followed by mums v dads (very contentious!) tug-of-war.
Do browse our Galleries section for photographs of this wonderful annual event.
PE is a key part of our curriculum, with every class allocated two hours of PE per week.
We know and understand the importance of PE as a subject and encourage every child to learn to appreciate the benefits of healthy living and being aware of their own mental well-being as they face challenges in life.
