PE and Sport Premium Funding

The dedicated PE and Sport Premium grant has been used to fund several different projects over the last few of years including the support for swimming programmes in years 2 and 3.
We have held Healthy Living themed weeks and A-Life have been into school twice to run healthy living workshops and fitness sessions for children from yrs Reception to Year 6. Such sessions proved to be great successes and drew everybody's attention the importance of healthy eating, physical activity and mental health.  You can see examples of the work the children have done during A-Life’s visits on our Galleries page!

We now intend to treat gymnastics as a particular focus area at St Michael’s over the next three years. We will bring into school a specialist PE coach to work with the children whilst, at the same time, training (and therefore ‘up-skilling’) class teachers and TAs in the delivery of high quality gymnastics. We will also support teachers by providing further training opportunities with LB Enfield PE Team.

The extra funding has been used in many different ways and you can see a clear breakdown of our expenditure and the impact of where we have invested the funding on the PE and Sport Premium Funding tab of our website.
