School Council

A school council is group of students who are elected to represent the views of all pupils and to improve their school.

School Councils have been around for around 40 years and they are an excellent way to make sure that lots of the children can be represented in ways that affect the whole school.

Being a school councillor is a very responsible position as you have to have a lot of sensible ideas and sometimes have to do things in your lunch times. However, it is your chance to play an important part in our St Michaels family.

You might feel a little nervous about putting yourself up for election but it is exciting to see what happens when people share their ideas. Imagine if it were yours!

Each year, every class will normally elect 2 representatives to be members of the school council with a vote overseen by the class teacher to make sure it is as fair as possible.

Our School council have regular meetings with Mrs Underwood, who supports the children in their work. If you'd like to see what they have been talking about, please take a look at the minutes posted below!
