Seek Joy in Service

Sensory Room

Those who attended the ‘Moving on’ meeting  will remember that we talked about the importance of promoting good mental health and intervening early to prevent problems in later life.
We are currently raising money to convert an area behind the stage to a sensory room that can be used by any child at a time when they need it – a supervised quiet space where they can be calm and reflective. Whilst some children have recognised special needs, others may – at times - be experiencing specific difficulties, such as bereavement or high levels of anxiety. Whatever the reason, the aim is to provide early support for your child at their time of need.
The Sensory Room is well on the way to being finished! Building work took place over the summer holidays and we are very grateful to Mr Nugent and his able team, who did an excellent job. We await the arrival of the door – due early in December - and are currently sourcing a projector and bubble tube, which we will purchase when we can afford it.
Many items, such as bean bags and cushions have been purchased with Sainsbury’s vouchers, so thanks to everyone who brought them in. We would also like to say thank you to Mr Phillips for making and donating great little seats and to Tony for donating and fitting a blackout blind.
After the success of The Spring Ball earlier this year, another is planned for Saturday, April 28th, so if you are looking for a good night out, please join us!
We will continue to fundraise for other items and services that will contribute to improving and enhancing the mental health and wellbeing of all our children.
Thank you
Mrs Rolland
