Admissions for September 2021

Each year, 30 children are admitted to our Nursery and 60 children are admitted to Reception. Places are allocated according to strict admissions criteria. Below you will find the 2021 Admissions Policies for:

  • Nursery 2021
  • Reception 2021
  • In-Year Admissions (during the 2020-2021 school year).

COVID-19 Exceptional Circumstances

Please note that due to the exceptional circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic, a Variation to the faith based oversubscription criteria for admission in September 2021, has been proposed by the Governing Body of St Michael’s CE Primary School. This Variation has been approved by the Office of the Schools Adjudicator, in accordance with section 88E of the School Standards and Framework Act 1998 - and can be seen below:

Variation to the 2021 Admission Policy:

In the event that during the period specified for attendance at worship, the church has been closed for public worship and has not provided alternative premises for that worship, the requirements of these admission arrangements in relation to attendance will only apply to the period when the church or alternative premises have been available for public worship.

This means that parents will not be penalised for not attending church during the period in which churches were closed for public worship.  Please be aware that it is the responsibility of parents to look out for information from local churches regarding the re-opening of those churches and regarding evidence of church attendance, for the purpose of school places.

Nursery and Reception Admissions 2021


All Nursery applicants will need to fill in a Nursery Application Form. This form includes our Supporting Reference, which is also required, if you are applying for a Foundation Church place. The Nursery Application Forms will be available to download below, from 1st October 2020.



All Reception applicants will need to complete an Enfield Council Admissions Service on-line application. The website address for this is:

If you are applying for a Foundation Church place at St Michael's School, you will also need to complete our Reception Supplementary Information Form which includes our Supporting Reference. This will be available to download below, from 1st October 2020.

If you are applying for an Open Community place, you do not need to complete a Supplementary Information Form/Supporting Reference.

Please note that the deadline for submission for all of the admission forms for Reception and Nursery is 15th January 2021. Please see the Admission Policies below for further details.


Visits to the School Nursery and Reception 2021

Due to COVID-19, there will be a virtual tour only, which you will find in the Parent's Area of the website.


Admissions Queries and Submitting Completed Forms to the School

Please use the following email address for admissions queries and also for submitting your completed Supplementary Form and Supporting Reference - by 15th January 2021.

In Year Admissions

For all in-year applications (except the Nursery), you will need to complete an Enfield Admissions Service in-year application form. To apply for an in-year Foundation Church place, you will also need to return our In-Year Supplementary Information Form including our Supporting Reference, available below.
