Please note that there is a Variation to the September 2023-2024 Admissions Policy:
COVID-19 Exceptional Circumstances
Please note that due to the exceptional circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic, a Variation to the faith based oversubscription criteria for admission in September 2021 was proposed by the Governing Body of St Michael’s CE Primary School. The Variation was approved by the Office of the Schools Adjudicator, in accordance with section 88E of the School Standards and Framework Act 1998 - and remains in the policy for admission in September 2023:
In the event that during the period specified for attendance at worship, the church has been closed for public worship and has not provided alternative premises for that worship, the requirements of these admission arrangements in relation to attendance will only apply to the period when the church or alternative premises have been available for public worship.
This means that parents will not be penalised for not attending church during the period in which churches were closed for public worship.
