“The stories we love best do live in us forever.”
Rowling J.K.
Our school curriculum aims to develop children’s ability to listen, speak and reason; skills which underpin written literacy activities. Developing our children's vocabulary is a particular passion of ours! We believe that regular, systematic teaching of phonics gives children the basic building blocks of reading. Building on these foundations, children are exposed a wide range of  stories and books which build an excitement and anticipation about books and literature.

We encourage a love of reading and writing by sharing quality books with our children to engage and inspire them. The P.T.A. regularly help us to update our classroom books and a recent book swap was a big hit with the children! Our children take part in a variety of reading, writing and speaking competitions with other schools and we have visits from well known writers to further engage and motivate our budding authors!
