As a Voluntary Aided Church of England school, St. Michael's is regularly inspected by two different bodies.
SIAMS (Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools)
SIAMS inspections focus on the effectiveness of the school as a church school. They look at all aspects of the school but there is a particular focus on how we develop the 'whole' child - socially, spiritually and morally as well as academically. For Voluntary Aided schools, standards in the teaching and learning of RE are also a part of a SIAMS inspection.
OFSTED (Office for Standards in Education)
OFSTED inspections focus on the effectiveness of schools in general. They look at all aspects of standards, particularly academic standards. Leadership and management of the school and standards of behaviour are also part of an OFSTED inspection. Parents can give their views to OFSTED by following the link below
