December 2024

As we approach the festive season, I want to take a moment to wish all our families a restful and enjoyable Christmas break. This is a special time for reflection, hope, and peace—an opportunity to cherish time with loved ones and create lasting memories.

December has been an incredibly busy month at our school, and I cannot thank you enough for your incredible support. The dedication and brilliance of our children, combined with your encouragement, have kept us all motivated during one of the most eventful times of the year.

We are so blessed to have such an amazing team for our children. Thank you to our school staff, Father Stephen, governors and volunteers - it's been a long term.

A special thank you goes to our fantastic PTA, whose hard work and creativity brought the most amazing Christmas Extravaganza to life. It was heartwarming to see so many of our families coming together to celebrate and enjoy the festivities—it truly captured the spirit of our school community.

As we look forward to the new year, I wish you all a joyful and peaceful holiday season. Thank you once again for everything you bring to our school family.

Merry Christmas to you all from your PTA and a huge thank you to everyone who supported our Winter Wonderland week of events. This year we raised a fantastic £6393.76 which includes Christmas cards, wreath making and sponsorship from Magna Studios and Atkinsons.

Special thanks goes to all of our wonderful volunteers who help behind the scenes and to Mrs Bacon and all the teachers who allowed us to take over the school to bring some Christmas Joy to all our children. We appreciate everything you do!

Thanks also to

⁃ Maria, who creates our fun games for the children including the fab gingerbread house for the human fruit machine.

⁃ Sev and Jeremy  for helping to present the wonderful wreath making event and Marina, Ozen and Lisa for helping Rachael to organise the event.

⁃ All our external stall holders including Guy, who kindly donated all his profits to the PTA

⁃ Year 6 girls Ava and Mia, for selling their own craft creations

⁃ Our amazing  adult choir for a fabulous performance

⁃ Mrs Pearson and Mr Johnson for always lending a hand wherever they can! And we can't forget Santa who made a very special visit to see all our children and bring gifts!

We hope you all have a lovely festive break and we’ll be back in the New Year with a Wacky Hair Day on 17th and a coffee morning on 20th January.

Performances – A Season of Joy

What a wonderful month it has been for performances across our school! We are bursting with pride at how brilliantly the children have showcased their talents, filling us all with joy and the spirit of Christmas.

Nursery: Our youngest stars stole the show with their first-ever school performance. Singing Christmas songs with actions, they charmed their audience with pure innocence and joy — adorable!

Reception: The Reception nativity, held at the church, beautifully told the story of Christmas through a combination of songs and drama. Their enthusiasm and commitment to sharing this important story created a magical experience for all who attended.

Years 1 and 2: Bringing parents into the festivities, Years 1 and 2 started with a Christingle-making workshop, followed by a delightful performance of carols and Christmas songs. This joyous occasion truly captured the togetherness of the season, and we hope everyone enjoyed the interactive format as much as we did.

Year 4 and the Carol Service: The carol service, led by Year 4 and supported by Years 3, 5, and 6, was another standout highlight. Through song, drama, and reflection, they retold the Christmas story with a unique perspective, going back to the prophecy of Isiah that the Messiah would be born. It was both moving and thought-provoking, leaving the audience touched by its beauty. And the beautiful ending from the choir had me fighting back tears.

Year 5 Grand Finale: Rounding off the season, Year 5 dazzled with their performance of Alice in Winterland. Their creativity, hard work, and vibrant storytelling brought this magical production to life, making it a fitting grand finale for our festive celebrations.

A heartfelt thank you to all the staff who dedicated countless hours to making these performances possible. From guiding rehearsals to crafting props, your hard work and passion have ensured that these events are moments we will all treasure.

To our wonderful children: we are so proud of you! Your enthusiasm, courage, and joy have made this festive season truly special.

Micah Award Autumn Term 2024

Below are the nominees from each class for the Micah Award.  This is given to the children for continually upholding the school values.

Housekeeping Reminders

As we approach the festive season, here are a few reminders to keep in mind:

  • Pencil Cases: Please ensure pencil cases are small, clear, and contain only the essentials—normal HB pencils, colouring pencils, a writing pen if necessary, (green and red biro), a sharpener, a glue stick, an eraser, and a ruler. While brands like Smiggle (and others) are lovely, they can be distracting and often take up too much desk space and often go missing. (no gel pens)
  • Water Bottles: Children should have water bottles with sports lids to avoid spills in the classroom.
  • Scooters: Please ensure that scooters, including electric ones, are not used on school grounds. Users should dismount at the gate.
  • Parking: Please allow ample time to drop off and collect your child while following parking rules. If your child attends after-school clubs, avoid idling your car outside the school during pick-up time.

We would like to extend our thanks to the Pathway Club who gifted all the children with a Discover Good News for Everyone booklet and Bibles. Please find them in their bags today, a great resource to explore the bible together.
